Well, it's been a while.

I've had a little break from writing. Not intentionally, mind. I was once told when on a journalism course, that there was no such thing as 'writers block'. I disagree a little - or I thought I did, until I looked a bit deeper.

It's with this in mind that I find myself writing this blog..

Writers block is something many authors experience; but it's all a state of mind.
After looking at this problem, and giving myself a 'kick up the bum, I am now half way through writing my third book, and more importantly I'm back on track.

So...how do we overcome writers block? It's quite simple really! In my case for a start I took pressure off myself by 'writing for myself'. I remember when I wrote my first book; I wasn't thinking about what a reader might think, rather I was writing from the heart - just for myself. What anybody else made of my stories never really entered my thoughts. It seems this can be a winning formula - so I've taken a few steps back and put pen to paper (of fingers to keyboard), and I can feel creativity once again.

My illustrator (Mark Rowe) and myself are super exited, as always, about the upcoming publication of the second book in the Karillapig series 'The Tremendous Travels and Intergalactic Misgivings of the Karillapig'. Since the first book 'The Adventures of the Karillapig' was accepted by Austin Macauley, I decided to aim for a little series and see where that goes.

The point is this; if you don't try, you'll never know!

I will keep a little 'blog diary' of the progress of 'book 3' on here. Book 3 is as yet untitled, but I do hope there's some inspiration I can pass on.

I'll see you soon - remember, the kettle's always on!
